A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria on February 6, 2023 at 04:17am . The epicenter was near the city of Gaziantep, Turkey where Karen and I have been working since 2011. The earthquake impacted around seven provinces in Turkey and a large area in northern Syria and caused more than 50,000 deaths in Turkey and Syria.

I’ve helped in 2 prior earthquakes in Turkey. Izmit in 1999 and Van in 2011. Both quite devastating but not as destructive as this recent quake in South East Turkey.

Since the devastating earthquake massive tent and container cities are being erected in central parks, football fields and stadiums. Your financial and prayer support through Friendship International continues to bless and help hundreds of displaced families with food, blankets, and hygiene products, etc.

Thank you for your faithful partnership with Friendship International. A special thanks to our dear friends at “Drive Through History” and their faithful fans who have been quite generous toward our earthquake relief work in Turkey.
Dear Friends and Loved Ones. During Santa’s December 2022 visit to the Ukraine, that you made possible, we were able to identify 17 special needs children from 15 different families. Because of your generosity we’ve been able to continue providing them with some very necessary supplies, like diapers, wet wipes, washing detergent, toiletries, food, etc. Also, you made it possible to acquire a special desk and an exercise machine for a couple of young boys.
Please keep us in prayer as Santa makes plans to return to the Ukraine this Christmas.
